    system performance

I recently modded my 1541 drive to a cdrom for my vic 20, so I could try ut2004. load"ut2004",8,1 does not seem to work for it. Is my system not enough to run this game, should I upgrade to a c64 or maybe even a high end amiga if budget allows?

I am also wonding if I may have possibly altered the 8 as the drive number by switching to a cdrom?

        a c64 would be fine, but yeah, the 8 is a 7 for a CD iirc. or maybe 9

You could try and overclock it to 1.0228 Mhz and add MORE RAM

            or

Here is a C64 you could upgrade to:Link

I couldn't get it to run from the 1541 but it works great running it from the Datasette.

                      Youse gotta do a

                      SYS 49152

after the lO"ut2004",8,1 because it's not a self-loader. rU won't work because it's machine code, not BASIC.

Ya I was just hoping it would work, as I found a mag from 1987 and typed out 50 pages of if and goto lines etc and after 2 days or typing I had a pretty amazing multi coloured ball that bounced around the screen so I thought this baby would run 2k4 pretty smoking.

I have access to a Sun E15k... will this be enough for UT2004?

You should have used a 1571 drive and an Epyx Fast Load cart.

                              Kids these days I swear.
