Finding ppl in game out side of ut2k4

What I wanta do is list players online in game on a webpage

    can this be done

    #2
    Something like...
having a server, and a webpage that tells you who's playing in that server? (what their scoure is etc. and what map it's on) Letting you choose to join that server. (openning UT2004 up and joining)

If so... Frogger uses a plugin that does something like that on one of his webpages.
Just ask him, to share it. (only works in IE though )

    If not...
    Explain better.

I'm to lazy/stupid to make that search work. Can you plz point me more squarly in the right direction.

              Thx

PS What's the point of an IE only plugin - no-one will be able to see it! :haha:

ty, but I meant 4 a webpage, you know some sites show what their servers are up to. Never mind I'd need to be brainy to implement it I guess, so the first step would be to be clever enuff to actually find it. ty ne way.

One who has or professes to have an unusual degree of enlightenment - eh?

Click onto my site, the link is in my sig.

There is a plugin with some basic html code on the home page that tracks the players, number of players, map name, what team they are on...probably some other things I have forgotten. (my server is down at the moment, so it wont show any info )

You can get the html code and the information on how to install it here:

                    http://q3px.khimtech.com/en/forWebmaster.html

This is the one frogger uses....

(only works in IE though )
Thats untrue...if you install the PLUGIN to the your browsers folder, you can see it...it just defaults to C:\Program files\Internet Explorer\plugins

You can use the "Player Search" on http://www.serverspy.net/

With a little bit of php and regular expressions you could do the query and parse the output from/into your web page.

You'd have to do it for every player you want to look for though.

Parsing other web pages with regular expressions into your own page is a neat way to steal content.
Webmasters usually get upset about this one.

Edit: They offer a remote player search to subscribers btw.

I would much rater run this on my server and not serverspy's server... I doubt they would give up the code

I guess untill someone makes up code to do this I will pay for it
