    capturing frames from demo thingy

i heared something about a new option in previous patch.

instead of using fraps to capture, there is the option to cap each frame from demo into a bmp .(quake style). What are the commands for that to start it and to stop it. Isearched but i couldnt find the answer. thx .

    dumpframes start

    and

    dumpframes stop

It doesn't work right though (Epic), so you might as well just use Fraps.

Tried it and it does work for me. I'm still on 3270.

Try Virtual Dub. You can compress the images to a movie if you have the right codecs installed.

Can it be set where the frames are dumped in to? And can they be dumped as .jpgs?

Why does every1 think that it doesnt work correctly? Just use virtual dub ..

oh and musi, its saved like screenshots so you could change the screenshot folder in the INI and the frames are saved there aswel.

OK, thanks for the info...

                        [ Edit ] :

Might be a bit OT, but is there any way to record sound from your computer (like no mics and **** needed, only the recorder)?

You could still use fraps to record the audio if you're talking about in-game/demos or some sound cards have software that will let you "record what you hear"(soundblaster live cards).
I think there's another fraps-like app called gamecam as well...planetgamecam.com or something like that.

Here's a thread that ended up being useful for me:

I weren't thinking about games, just like recording a netradio?
