What's up with these desktops' "docking" thing?

OK, I've read lotsa of these "Weekend Desktop Thread"
and seen some discussion of these "docking" things...
How can I make a dock thing? Does it work with WinXP (seen that thing only with Mac)?

www.stardock.com get objectdock. Learned to create your own cause most of them out there are customized for a persons computer.

my home and work differ alot. I use the dockbar because i absolutely hate HATE icons on the desktop. Both of mine were custom made with GPL'ed icon sets. At home i rarely run windows though so thats why there isnt much to the dock, i use mostly for just gaming.

I wouldnt bother with all the Stardock stuff - people only run it once a week to take a screenshot for the WDT, then turn it off again. :bulb:

actually i dislike all stardock software but object dock, its their first intuitive software, it is so easy to customize, takes up no processing power, and your really not limited on what it can do (if you wanna code new plugins)
