I am thinking about starting a pug channel. I am also thinking about doing it on gamesurge.net or is there a better irc network or one that is more populated with UT2004 players?Comment

You would go into mIRC. In the channel there is a bot that creates and sets up pickup games. You add yourself to the pickup game by adding the corresponding letter to your nick. So, if the current letter for the pug was 'p' then you would make your name like p-DOOMBOT. And it would add you to the pickup. Most games hold 10 players so if the bot is set for 10 max players, once 10 people have the letter attached to their name the pickup begins. 2 people choose to be captain by typing in a command or if no one is captain in lets say a minute then it automatically chooses 2. You then begin picking your players by typing the pick command followed by their name or corresponding letter. Once all 10 players are assigned to a team you just jump into a server and play the maps that the 2 captains picked. it is a lot of fun and great way to get to know other people and clans.
Edit: The pug can be for any game and gametype. I just got back into weapons so I thought I would start a pug channel for UT2004 Weapons CTF 5v5.
