Wouldnt the obvious choice be TDM rather than iTDM if you want to get better at Onslaught? Sure your hitscan aim will improve if you play iTDM, but what about all the other weapons?

But you agree that playing ITDM *could* make you a better ONS player *faster* once you have a good/great memory of the maps layout...??? Or do you Disagree, and the only way you get better at ONS is the PLAY ONS exclusively???

/me <> flaming, just asking a serious question I'm sure everyone wants the answer to (and about the same amount of people think they KNOW the answer to)...

I play the occasional game of ONS for a bit of fun and something different from TDM, but on the most part after playing it excessively I find it to be boring, predictable and unchallenging as far as individual skill is concerned.

Maybe that's worth a look then...

Do you mean on servers in general, or specifically of cups/ladders and competitions BTW?

ONS is boring to a point, very true. I haven't played nearly as much as I used to, but that's mostly because other things in life have taken a lot of time recently. Oh and Thief3 came out

ONS is still fun, especially as a clan and with a bunch of friends. Publics aren't much fun. Yesterday I joined a server where *no one* linked up to each other, where *no one* attacked the enemies nodes and where all the losers changed onto my side when we were down to their last node.

But really, clanwarfare is the best there is about ONS. I really think insta is the most repetitive gamemode, couple it up with deathmatch which already is too simple for my liking and you've got something I'll play a couple of rounds of per month, that's it.

But hey, we all like our different game modes, amen to that.

I will continue to dislike and not play CTF while the trans is still used... I just plain HATE that... worst thing they ever done IMO!

    nwDM? What's that?

Jailbreak is a right old laugh... loved that on Q3...

I played it for a while when I could find like-mided people back on UT2k3... It's really just TDM but learn a new map and try to hold 2 locations... nothing 'special' IMO

So really.. all the games types start to 'blend' into the same thing... in the end... it's just about learning the maps once you learn how to aim!

True IG will not teach you to aim Rockets... but I already know how to spam rockets into a corridoor

. o O ( God... I just said 'spam rockets'... now I'm starting to SOUND like an IG player!)...

    ONS Loving Player Converted to...

OK... As unlikely as it might seem... I started playing my 'arch-enemy gametype' iTDM... I'm a big fan (was?) of ONS...

See... Starting this Forum's clan up (See sig for details) made me think maybe I'd better get a bit better at my game... ONS doesn't exactly REQUIRE great skills (LOL)... and as iTDM is a gametype, it wouldn't hurt to lern the maps etc...

Anyway... I heard that for many people, the FASTEST way to enhance your skill and most efficient 'hours to 1337' ratio was gained by playing the iTDM (Or iDM) to give you that 'itchy trigger finger/cat-like reactions'...

Screw all that.. iTDM is fun... I played a good few hours, mostly teams (Which were WELL BALANCED I MIGHT ADD) of roughtly 3on3 (but droped to 1on2 and went up to 4on4 at some points)...

Anyway... feel free to tear up what I say... ONS is fun in a 'special olympics' kind of way when you stand it next to the eye-ball popping speed of 3on3 iTDM on Albatros (small map = many gibs!)... Can't understand why I never gave it a chance...

    OK, me done now...
Working...
