Discord repliedNah, it's a blast. Been playing around with it offline, out of 100 kills maybe 7- 10 were headshots. It's just kind of a little bonus, like "Heh... I really killed that guy!"

legacy-ever frost repliedIs the sound emphasi's not already emphasized on the body disintegrating ? and the head shot sound would make affect lame ,as it would be over powered by the chunk's sound wav.
But if you like it ,try add it
1 would think nearly every shot is a head shot ,as shock rifle has a very accrete primary fire .Like un assisted lightning gun shot .

legacy-catphile repliedIf I hit the head in IG, I've hit too high. Going right for the middle of the body. So "Headshot!" in IG would be like telling me "You almost missed, dumbass!"

legacy-thep0pe repliedI only play instagib when I feel like practicing my hitscan aim, so I think headshot notification would be really handy.

Discord repliedHey hey, I found it!
It's called *XxInstagibxX*. It's actually 4 mutators, providing standard and modified versions of the Insta and ZoomInsta rifles... it changes the model, which is kind of a drag, but at least it's a cool looking black version of the 2k3 shock rifle.
Standard rifles perform exactly like the normal thing, except... tadaa... headshots!

legacy-Shizna repliedI would like to see gibs more realistic looking... when someone explodes their body parts look like an action figure... no bloody stumps or bone sticking out.

Id rather have the **** bodies gib. That is why it is called InstaGib, correct?
No, man, you misunderstand. What happens when you score a headshot in IG as is? The body gibs, but there's no headshot announcement. I dunno about these other guys, all I'm after is the announcement.
It's not like they removed the headbox for IG or anything...

Meh... in practical terms, yes a headshot award in IG is pointless. I've always wanted IG to call headshots though... not because it kills 'em any deader, just because I'd like to know.
It wouldn't affect the game at all beyond adding an extra announcement so why not?
It may be pointless, but doesn't it make you feel good to just hear "HEADSHOT"???

No point... Instant death is instant death.
Play NW if you want rewards for precision.
