Trance can be all from sylver:ish melody + lyrics to Warpbrothers / DJ Orbit With no lyrics (or maybe a word or 2) and a heavy beat.. usualy the melody is carried within the beat quite nice music but can cause headaces

I also go a portabel mp3 cd player... cheap and big storage compared to many other portabel music solutions.. I play it loud and with big headphones

There's a company called Muzak that will pipe it into your office or elevator or gas station or dentist's office or wherever you want to create a generic, bland, soulless sound environment to distract your paying customers or workers. I doubt that every artist working in however many pointless subgenres of techno there are these days is as worthless as that but I suspect that Muzak at a hundred decibels would sound at least as good as most of them.
