Best FPS Mouse: Razer Viper or MX510?

I am trying to maximize my movement, accuracy and reaction time in UT04. My friend suggested the Razer Viper optical. That mouse seems to have a devoted following among hardcore gamers. However, I've read some great reviews on the new Logitech MX510 optical. They both sell for $50 but, bottomline, which one is the outright best with performance being the defining factor? Thanks guys!

    MX510

They both track about the same

    MX510 is more ergonomic

    MX510 got more buttons

    3 to 1 in favor on MX510

Lol, I use a $5 dollar (cdn) mouse, with a $5 dollar (cdn) keyboard. :haha:  I replace the mouse every so often, since they seem to break fast.

              Mx510:

30x30-pixel CMOS sensor at 5.8 MP

              800Cpi

              5250 images per second

              12-bit report rate

              -----------------------------------------------------

              Razer Viper

16x16-pixel CMOS sensor at unknown MP

1000Cpi (Sensor is 800Cpi but with a lens the end result is 1000Cpi)

              2300 images per second

              8-bit report rate

              -----------------------------------------------------

So the bottom line is if you use very high sense setting you might want to try out the Viper. If you like low up to high sense settings you should go with the Mx510 since the Viper skips badly at lower sense settings. The Viper evidently (because of its high Cpi) only works well at very high sense settings judging by customer reports around the net.

MX510. You've already heard the arguements for it, so I won't go about repeating those.

Thanks for the quick reply, guys! What a great forum!

I was leaning toward the mx510 because of the extra buttons and ergonomic design. I may have to test both of them and see how they feel in my hand.

The paint got a holographic finish that's unique... meaning your mouse is one of a kind

wait... did you just list the mouseware drivers as a pro instead of a con?

Don't forget that you can just pick up a box at BB or CC and feel the MX .

I´m pretty sure that if you don´t use MW Windows won´t understand that the mouse is capable of using 5,8 Mp and a 12-bit report rate. That´s why there is such a huge difference in sensitivity when you go from the standard windows drivers to MW.
