Onslaught is much diffrent from deathmatch, or deathball. Onslaught requires alot of cpu power due to it's meshes/karma. (The vehicles use alot of this) so you have have a better cpu to gain a fps gain. So, if you can, just buy atleast a better processeser if you want to play onslaught with max settings and achieve good fps.

edit: and I noticed, your videocard is the bottleneck. Get a radeon 9600 pro for atleast $150, or try to get the 9800 pro for $200. You will get like, 30-40 more fps.

buy a new processor? bro, that would be a waste right now, going from a 2.66 to a 3.4 at best? i can just overclock it to 3 ......... I just wanted to know if i was in normal range, wasnt complaining or anything.

And actually i am running on above average settings. at a 1024x768x32 res.

Also i am planning on upgrading the GFX as i said, but im waiting to see the new nvidia and ATI boards first.

Well I have a 2700+ thats defective so I have to try to warranty it from AMD. It wont hold a constant CPU speed. One bootup it will be reconized as a 2700 and another it will reconize it as a 1500mhz Duron

Seems strange that the demo runs perfect on the Geforce 3 and the retail runs way slower, even with the new video card.

good point...I'm still ignorant to the fact that more than 512mb will do anything (true like 3 years ago lol)

and I can turn my res to 1280x1024 with no hits on performance either...I think the cpu (mine's a 2.6) is the bottleneck there...

thats why if you note and look carefully i said over 85 in - 2003 -. i know about 2004's cap.

    ATI Radeon 9700Pro (Crucial)

I tried putting most settings on low and got the same results as most settings on high. Thought that was strange. But, I'll take 30-40 fps. Seems to be a tiny bit of tearing, which I'm not sure why is happening as my refresh rate is 100hz and the fps never go above that.

onslaught needs 128mb of ram on the video card to get decent frames, so I read....you 64mb users are probably seeing that problem....try unchecking trilinear filtering and the fog distance down, maybe turning character detail and shadows down, and dynamic LOD can be set to low....

Can anyone point me in the right direction in getting more FPS

    AMD 2100+
    512 DDR 2700 ram
    ATI 9800pro (newest ATI drivers)
    120 gig SATA drive
Yes, you have an ATi card. Click Start >> Run >> type in "msconfig". Go to the services/startup tab and uncheck the two ATi programs. One is for smartgart, the other is for your hotkeys. These two things really drop the performace of ut2004, not sure as to why yet though.
