Can UT2004 be configured to run Xbox 360 controller

I would google UT2004 xbox 360 controller, there seems to be a few threads in this forum about it.

When I enable the joystick in UT2004 my screen keeps drifting to the left. I can move forward and look left and right but not up and down. The buttons can be configured but not the right thumb stick. I don't mind using keyboard and mouse but some of my nieces and nephews like console controllers. Is there a way to edit the joystick other than the menu?
