Would someone make me a simple UT 2004 Map

A while ago somebody was going to make a CTF map but life got in the way and they could never finish it so if I can settle on a couple of ideas for one would it be too much trouble for someone to make me a CTF map for UT 2004? Or is that being cheeky

Those of us who can map will almost always use the skill for our own projects and not for what someone else wants us to do, unless given sufficient incentive. Just being honest.

@T1Cybernetic: Azarael is right. You should go ahead and post your idea anyways though in case there is anyone left that might be interested in making a map themed around the idea. Also, there are lots of great tutorials out there, start reading and get mapping

Or maybe if you post your idea we could find a similar map that is pretty close to what you have in mind?

Actually it's a simple enough map but i have no clue how to map! But you are right i should go read up and try to do it myself.

I always loved Facing worlds so it has to be something similar but in my opinion improved or maybe just with personal taste thrown in :P

It's would be something like a desert/sandy castle theme with sandy textures and rock/sandstone buildings, Almost identical at both sides (Mirror image) and flat at each side but with with an incline to the middle a bit like Facing worlds /Face ut99 style! Only 2 to 3 times bigger. The towers at both sides would be something like a small castle type building preferably round buildings that can be accessed from the front and back.

I can picture it but it's difficult to know if that if a good description for you guys

I sent you a PM with some detail questions. I'm not 100% sure, if life will allow me to get to it (it has been a bit harsh to me this year), but I'll try my best.
I'm currently cleaning my to-do list which will require me to have the UEd open anyway. Time to throw away all those RCs and betas that I have on my HDD and turn them into finals!

Can anyone point me to some good sources of information for ut99-ut2004 mapping? I might as well give it a blast for nothing

If I find more tutorials I will post but so many sites that use to have tutorials are gone, you could actually search google for tutorials and try youtube for basic mapping and first level instructions.
Also if you have the bonus disc that came with UT2004 Special Edition, that has many video training videos on everything.

Basically build a room, texture it, put lights in it, a weapon base, a player start, rebuild, save and play.
Next put static meshes in it, emitters, elevators, learn how to align things.
It is fun, don't miss out.

I made my first map with this tuto :> http://www.unreal.fr/tutoriaux.php?tutorial=4
It's french langage, but with goodle translator or any translator. > http://translate.google.com/translat...%3D4&sandbox=1
You could make full map step by step.

The better tuto, i could find.
After, Angel, Hasel, Hellkeeper, UDN, ... have some good tutos.

Thank you all I'll get them looked over when I get a chance. A quick browse makes me feel ever so much out of my depth but I'll give it a blast.

Once you learn the basics, it will be easy. Trust me on that.
