Only because there is no statement by Epic in this thread it doesn't mean they don't care whether someone uses their textures in maps for a game they didn't make or not.
Epic is pretty busy with what they can do best: Developing games. Didn't you hear of that "there will be 5 low budget games in 2012(was it 2012?)" statement (all new IPs, none of them related to any of the existing Epic IPs)? 5 games... Even if low budget, that's very time consuming!
Then, Flak is busy with the forum update (very busy and replies to PMs after like 3-5 days, before the update she responded like the next day). The other moderators (and admins?) are probably more than busy banning spammers in the Gears forums (now that Gears 3 is out there is most likely a new wave of spammers), checking posts and scolding members.
Btw, keep in mind that Flak is not only doing stuff here on this forum but she also posts news on the Epic Games Community page.

Im sure Epic would have jumped in this thread if it was any concern to them!

The point is, they (most likely) prohibit it because otherwise you could just recreate the game in another game with the same assets and so the owners of the other game would have UT (or parts of it) for free without even owning it.

What i make is absolutely FREE to the public. Its just an addon u add in the game.
I dont intend to sell even my modded stuff. Cant talk about selling something i dont own.

    Well, it's not that easy.
Epic Games owns these textures and in their EULA they say that this content must stay within this franchise iIrc (too lazy to check but I'm very sure that it's like that). Without an official "yes" you mustn't use them. You can only use UT content if it's a mod which requires you to own UT2003 or UT2004.

if what you make is free to the public then all should be good...isn't this all open source now?

...now if your adding this to a game that will be put up for sale! then you have a problem!

    ...my 2 cents!

Theoretically you could ask Joe Graf who made the animations. He is gameplay programmer at Epic Games, active on this forum and might know it. While you'd be at it you could ask him if you can use the animations at all, because I doubt they will let you do it (since the EULA prohibits it). If you can't find him, you could contact Flak about it but she is very busy since a few weeks because of the forum update and the wave of new members in the Gears 3 section (which results in much spam she has to "clean up").

    I wish you good luck.

Tbh, I don't think it should be allowed. I wouldn't want my hard work to be taken for someone else's work without asking me and giving me credits or paying me for it.
I dont want to take it and claim it mine. I am going to Credit the Game as its from there.

I have used quite a few things from Postal2 into LOTD, as the makes of it said that we can use anything from it into this game, and Always credied them in the Post where the MOD Was released, and inside the .U files.

Making textures isn't as easy as it sounds. However, if you want to try it, there are several websites on the internet which offer free base textures which can be used to make (complex) custom textures.

Is that allowed, In my opinion It should be.
Then he will definitely have a problem with lawyers if someone from Epic discovers it and finds out his adress and name.

Apart from that everything you have to know about it is written in UT2kx's EULA.

Sorry, I don't know who made animations for UT2kx and don't know how to contact the animators.
You will have to make it yourself it seems.

I wish you good luck, though.

Good point. So, is there a way to contact the peron that made a specified thing in game and ask for his permission?

At the moment, I'd like to use the Skeleton Animation and Get it as a character into this game.

I know what you said, I just said what was the legally right way to do it.

"Someone else set my neighbor's house on fire, so I can do the same" was never a good argument.

I said the map Was already converted to LOTD, By someone years ago. With the UT2004 Meshes and Textures.

The map layout is his copyright then, but he needs to replace all textures and meshes from UT with some equivalents from LOTD or some self-made ones as he doesn't own the copyright for the UT stuff.
