It's still better than Rankin's. Heck, in my opinion the word "map" should be eschewed for "arena", because saying "map" kind of ruins the suspension of disbelief.

If there aren't, they'll probably have a bonus pack that is predominantly Bombing Run maps.

I'm most excited about the DM maps. If those 1on1 maps are actualy 1on1 maps and not morbiasclones, and rest of the maps aren't all some lowgrav tokaraforests, the DM may actually have a nice replay value. All the non-DM modes are just extra for me. Something to play while my favourite DM server has a lame 2k3 map in rotation, heh.

Might get hooked to the assault though.

You people completely fail in seeing the importance of the description.
It's like politicans, half the people follows a certain guy just because of his funky one liners while they don't get the actual message thats behind it and the actual points the guy stands for
It's not about the description. It's about the map, the description is 100 percent inferior.
If you judge a map on a two line big text then I could make a cube look intersting by giving it an 8 page story.
That would suddenly make it the best map ever right ?

Also one should N_E_V_E_R add the word arena A_N_Y_W_H_E_R_E in a map.
It's the absolute worst possible thing you could do for the feel of your map
It transforms your entire map in a stupid lame commercial entertainment based american **** map where even Las vegas can't compete against. It makes it look like a cheap *** sports event without any sense of style, culture, class, feeling or artistic influence or however else you'd like to define it.
A map it is, and we all know that. But an arena.....
