    Just wondering

I have just been wondering, how comes most of these mods have not been updated or completed? I'm curious because some were made in 2009, 2010 and some say they there will be more work done but there has been nothing, please tell me UT2004 is not dead.

My mods, for instance, follow a schedule. That means that I create a beta version, then go work on another mod until time comes again to work on the first mod. And since I have plenty of those to work on, it takes a lot of time until the cycle is complete, but at least it keeps me motivated.

and you also have to understand that all of us do have lives that keep us from finishing stuff

Nothing I ever do is more than beta. Ever.

The "current version" is more likely to be on the servers than on the download link.

unrealloco: Agreed. Real life especially with work, wife, and children tends to lead to very little free time to spend on other things!

Most people probably have the same problem I do, you got the basic stuff done and everything might even work properly, but you can't get your *** up polishing it up for some kind of release.

More people should follow Piglet's rant of Finishing Things, including myself and apparently Piglet himself as well :

I like to finish my projects, but as it was already stated reallife stuff takes us too much time.

Same here. Apart from that I'm almost always like "Hm... I'm still not happy with it, let's first make this changes and release a new beta and later let's see if I'll make it a RC or not"... Perfectionism is not always good.
