Long tome from being online in UT.

I know it's been quite a long time since I was online in UT but as some of you might know what happened to me over the past couple months. More details about that in the Community Tournament Section. I'm slowly coming back! I now have Windows XP installed but I'm not quite used to it. I also have to say, I hate using Internet Explorer! I'm hoping Firefox and Google Chrome is compatible with XP. Also, if I can get a hold of a coy of Windows 7 which I'm more used to, I'll replace XP with that.

I'm looking for a "legit" (not pirated!) lol, of UT2004 or Unreal Anthology (UT2k4 is in that also) and UT3 Black Edition!

Sure! I use Firefox on this old computer. It's Firefox 3.6 though, Firefox 4 crashed so many times on Windows 7 rig, I'm tired of it and didn't want to bother with it on XP either. I won't update to 4 anymore until I hear/read that they fixed that!
A new Unreal Anthology is usually cheaper than a new UT2004.

It's great to hear that you slowly come back - Welcome back!

        Welcome back!

I recommend that if you plan to use Firefox on Windows XP, you should use Firefox 3.6 instead of Firefox 4. I've heard quite some complaints about it (also, see Sly.'s post).

When I used Firefox 4 on XP it took over a minute to delete the temporary files and cookies.
I don't know if that's just me or if others have this problem as well.

I'm using Firefox 3.6 - never had any problems with it.

LOL, yeah Firefox 4... Crashed more times on one day than all Firefox versions I had before together!!!
Install Firefox 3.6 or 3.5whatever, never had any problems with them. Acutally I'm using 3.6 right now.
I don't trust Google Chrome... you know, there are rumors that they collect much more (private) data about you than on other browsers.

Thanks. @dsandusky, I'll give Google Chrome a try.
@Ryuzaki Thank you. I will first try Firefox 4, if that causes problems I'll go to Firefox Firefox 3.6. I'm glad to be back though.

@sly: chrome has an autofill option and it does seem that it saves more passwords etc. then other browsers, but man is it fast and I bet there's a way to turn some of those save options of.

I am using Firefox 4 everywhere (except right now, since it's not in OpenSUSE 11.3, unfortunately) and I never had any problems.

As for Unreals, take a look here:

Hey, thanks GE! I'm wanting that Unreal Pack that's in the first link you sent, it has UT GOTY, Unreal Gold, Unreal II: The Awakening, UT2004, and UT3 in a bundle for $39.99!

That's a great deal I can save on.

Personally I don't recommend Steam unless you already use it, since it costs more, forces harsh DRM on you and has a shady agreement.

This is what I did, I replaced XP for Windows 7 (thanks goes to my neighbor), since I'm more used to it. I bought the Unreal Pack since it has UT GOTY, Unreal Gold, Unreal II: The Awakening, UT2004, and UT3 in a bundle for $39.99 yesterday online. It should not take long to get it since I ordered it through the fastest ordering method.

What DRM and what shady agreement?

DRM as in requiring you to authenticate every time you launch the game, which takes a long time. And that even includes UnrealEd! Offline mode is just as slow.
As for the shady agreement - see my website.

Ha, great article. I also have only one game there too (Just Cause 2), although I bought it as a disk I had to make a Steam account.
But when I get around to buying a game on Steam, I will first look if I can have it on Impulse too, even with better conditions perhaps.
