I have to say I prefer classic DOM to DDOM. I used to play Domination regularly years ago, fav map being Cryptic , and was a bit dissapointed to find I didn't enjoy DDOM as much. It would be great if both Domination gametypes were available in 2k4, but then I don't believe in miracles!
It definitly has another feel than DOM, and that's the point!
Originally posted by Pu55yCrook I think DOM is a lot better than DDOM. I tried playing DDOM on UT2k3, and it just doesn't have the same feel to it as classic DOM. It would be awsome if they did bring it back for 2k4. Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

DOM I played quite a bit back in '99 and '00, but I never got realy hooked.
DDOM on the other hand is what saved UT2003 in my opinion. It brouight as much joy to UT2003 for me as all other game modes combined brought to UT ... and still I totally love UT!
Again, I play on pubs and DDOM fits much better in that environment. Maybe DOM is better for organized matches, I think that's what I'm reading out from your statements here. But in my opinion, DDOM is the better for public servers.
And, Xloc don't belong in DDOM. In DOM maybe, that's up to you (I realy have a problem accepting game modes with Xloc).
IMO DDOM is more thrilling to play, the countdowns and last second saves keep u on the end of ur seat. And if this gametype hadn't been included in UT2003 I think i can safely say I wouldn't be playing it today - I probably would have gone back to UT.

Nah the tele shoots much farther now, and recharges faster, so it only sucks for people who telewh0re like no tomorrow.
Personally I was more effective with less frequent translocations anyway. Superfast ones just took longer to get places.

Was it the one Red Dwarf and I worked on or a different one? I never found out if Red finished it but it was hella sweet for UT CTF, considering it needed to be redone for gameplay.
And btw DOM at it's height of players had more real players than DDOM did. DDOM just lasted longer with fewer players. I remember when it first came out it had almost as many players as CTF but CTF was so fricken strong it pretty much stole from all gametypes.
