So, will I have to scrap UT2004 a year from now?

    So, will I have to scrap UT2004 a year from now?

    And get UT2005? Thats why I am not picking up UT2004. I spend good money on UT2003, and within a year they said they would be putting out UT2004 with all new modes, ect, and everything that UT2003 had. SO I felt I wasted my money. the orginal UT was around for 3 years before we got UT2003. Don't the people at Epic relaize people are not made of money and can't afford a whole new version of the game every year?
    Epic also lied to us and said that people with UT2004 will be able to play on UT2003 servers, then they said they won't be compatible. They lied to us.

        ut2k5 will take longer and have a new engine I believe...personally if they keep adding new addictive gametypes for each release then I'll be happy to pay whatever the price is...

            Epic has confirmed that they will only have you pay again if the changes are MAJOR, like UT2004. If the changes are relatively slim, it'll be released as something bonus-pack like.

              Had they gotten 2k3 right, there wouldnt have been a 2k4.

                Do you people moan about everything you buy? I mean, I made some errors buying stuff (non game), win some, loose some.

                With UT2k4, you just get 2 games in one. They could also have just put out UT2k4, since it's 3CDs, same like UT2k3, which is far TOO MUCH for an add-on. That argument about it being just an add-on can be put right into the trashcan. Sure, you already bought the other game, but otherwise you'd have to pay for UT2k4 alone I guess (and I suppose the same price, not add-on price).

                Well, then I'm glad the did UT2k3 the way it turned out. I never had a problem with it though.

                I think, the stuff we see now, isn't the vehicles we would have seen in UT2k3, not the way they're done. They needed time, so I'm glad they didn't wait 2 years.

                Anyway, this argument you pull out is so outdates, it's not even funny any more.

                    no offense but i'm getting sick of people who say they can't afford a new game every year.

                    1st If you can afford yourself a pc that runs UT2004 don't come here complaining about a lousy $40,-

                    2nd, if you like the game and play it allot, it will be the cheapest thing per hour you've ever bought. just divide the $40 trough the hours you play this game, if it's above 1 cent per hour i'll be suprised. Can you name me anything cheaper you can do for fun and costs less than 1ct a hour ?

                    3rd, you don't have to buy it, do you ?? does EPIC hold a gun to your head to make you buy it ?? don't think so., so keep playin UT2003 if you love it.

                    i can make up many more reasons but you get my point i hope.

                    Last, and one that deserves you a slapping, callin EPIC liars, they did not lie to you. During development they we're aiming for compatebillity but as they said it coudn't be done as hoped. Sure they said they would try, but i haven't seen any promises or a complete official UT2004 feature list. They tried but failed, can happen to anyone, they're human as well, but they don't own you anything. Or have you bought UT2003 with a coupon which says you could play on 2k4 servers, again don't think so.

                    Go whine to EA who release a new FIFA game every year, anyone complaining bout that ?..

                    btw wasted your money ?? if you haven't played 2003 you would have wasted it, if you played and had fun it can't be wasted.

                    PS. not trying to offend anyone, just had it with these posts.

                      But this is a very good argument, I'll remember this one .... EA launches annual titles, and you never hear a complaint about it (in reviews etc).

                      I myself don't mind a lot of UT-stuff over the years, the more, the better. I mean, if it was up to ID, we'd have a name game every 10 years .

                        It will be called UT2K6, takes two years for a new game.

                        I don't see them doing a new game for next year. I see a map pack, and graphics update.
