How do you play invasion?

Just wondering if anyone plays default Invasion, or just Invasion RPG, or what.

I don't play it, because all the good servers have the awful RPG mod.

And don't get me wrong. Its only awful because it ruined my ability to find a server.

I tend to prefer default style, custom monsters or not I don't care, I just don't want the RPG **** every server got.

RPG adds life to the old invasion.. Oh well each to their own..

I played default online for a couple of years, Happy Penguin for the win all the way! Although I have played RPG off and on since it was introduced in UT2003 and it is hard to find a server these days with what I'd call true invasion. Just look for Poo'sNoTransZone, one of it's selectable gametypes is regular invasion. The waves are custom but no mods or crazy mutators/monsters.

I play a bit of rpg invasion sometimes. I used to play it more, now I play mainly death match and some onslaught.

I know its bad but I love playing noobs in death match. Really good players, which I can probably only think of 10 that I have played before are anoying to play because they are either are too hard to play with, well, the game becomes too intense for me, make you angry when they kill you all the time or throw massive hissy fits when you do manage to kill them. They expect to win all the time and don't like it when I lg them in the back when they're not looking :P

anyway with invasion, I used to play on game arena but its acting dodgy at the moment, so I play on Internode usually. Its sad about GA I was like level 77 or something and the server was inhuman and pretty hard. You had to be careful at the hard waves. You could die so easy. Internode is easier but thats ok. Its good lg practice I guess but good players don't move as easy as monsters do, but I guess it would be better then playing reflex games which people always say improve your aim (which I play heaps aswell, gotta love reflex from intelore ) because your windows sensativity is probably different from game sens.

I could never just stand still and camp with the mine layer though thats just so boring. People probably just tape down the fire button and then go afk for an hour or so lol.

Plain Invasion RPG is lame because it only increases your health and the health pickups only bring you up to 200 max so it's pretty useless. RPG invasion with all the fixins that allow you to purchase abilities is the best.
The Woh clan has the best one I've played so far. 26 waves of pure insanity. They recently reset everyone's levels so most of the people are still under level 30 which makes it extra difficult. Also, fighting aliens, predators and a monster that shoots out deemer missiles, insanity.

Regular invasion is good if you're playing by yourself and you want to see how far you can go without any help from special abilities.
