The secondary's pretty useless too, ATM, especially when facing a minigun or a flakcannon.
Also, I think the primary will be easier to aim in UT2k4.

5 shots a second, each dealing 30 damage would be DEVASTATING against vehicles.
Two people firing the linkgun could take out a tank in 3 seconds.
