mouse pad help.

i tryed the icemat and retured it the same day. :down: It worked ok in desktop but when i started a game it didnt seem to track with the G7 mouse it either didnt move or was gerky, but when i put it on the desk it worked fine.
i also found the icemat surface hard to move across and was very noisy when moving the mouse around. i picked up some razor exactmat at a clearance and it works great. The func mat is great too i use that with my other comp.

For my Razer Diamondback, I'm going to upgrade to the XactMat. My friend uses the Razer Copperhead (laser like the G7) and plays on an Xtrac pad and says he loves it...

I wouldn't use a metal mouse pad on something with "teflon" mouse feet. It will wear them out very fast and you'll be riding on plastic. Scratches the feet up bad.

I woundn't even buy a fancy mouse pad. I just use a 16 inch by 18 inch cheapo cloth pad from Best buy/compukeusa. Works fine. Go big with a low sens.

Got an Alienware branded func from my m8. My G5 now skips going over the white Alienware branding (right across the centre of the mat). Just ordered the Razer eXact Mat.

Thanks everyone for the information it definitely made the bit of research I had to do a bit easier. After I looked at all the offerings I decided to go with the Banshee Pad. (http://www.bansheepad.com/) Really it is unique compared to many of the other mouse pads and on a good note the owner Thomas Athanas has been surprisingly responsive to all my emails about specs and concerns and you really cant find someone like that at a company these days so that was cool. I will post something after I try it out if anyone is interested in what I find.

colored mouse pad for the G5??

Does it make any difference with the G5 if I get a black mouse pad or color? I am using an all aluminum pad and I am not sure if I should get black or red.

I just want to say that if you get the func pad that make sure you get the new model with the hard plastic base or the aluminum. The old model with the rubber base sucks, look what mine turned into after 7 months:
