I am looking for some mouse pad suggestions to use with my Logirch G5. So far I am looking at three mouse pads. I would take any suggestion but I am interested if anyone has use the ones listed below and wanted to comment on them. Thanks for the help.

    1. Steelpad 5L- http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/S...ies/steelpad5l

    2. Ulti-mat- http://www.ulti-mat.com/v3/index.php...mousepads&id=1

    3. Banshee Pad- http://www.bansheepad.com/

Steelpad 4s ( aluminium one ) , func aluminium one , steelpad qck+ , and my favorite , steel pad S&S . Anyone of those is very good !, also mouse skates make a big difference , make sure u get the best ones for the certain mousepad !

I have an Ulti-Mat and it's excellent. I've got a G5 too, and although I don't use it as my main mouse I have tried it with the Ulti-Mat and it works perfectly. ^^

I was gonna add that :P

Yeah imo the Qpad is the perfect companion to the G5, but Tj linked to three hard pads, so I figured he just wasn't interested in cloth.

True I guess that is a factor. Right now I have the Xtrac Ripper XL and it is a nice cloth pad. I am looking for something different and I thought maybe one of the harder surfaces would be cool so I looked at everything from glass to the steel ones and came up with the 3 I listed. I guess the Razor Xact mat is a option also.

Out of interest, what's your style with the mouse? For example, I use a mid-high sensitivity and grip the mouse round the edges with my fingertips... I found that the G5 on a huge cloth pad seemed to be more suited to low-sens players who rest their hand on the mouse. It's definitely a factor for me... If you're a nippy/fast mouser then a hard surface is better, but if you have a more calm, precision based style (a la your typical UT2004 hitscan specialist) then I would recommend the Qpad low-sens to go with your G5.

Well I change from time to time. I was really low sense forever so I actually bought a big retangular table and cut the legs down so I could use the whole surface on the top for my mouse and keyboard. I have slowly brought my sens back up to 3 and have been able to keep most of my control but still spin around and blow someones head off when they are right behind me. So I still want a larger pad but I would like something slicker then cloth and good with the G5.

I love my func pad! It's 2 sided too, one really smooth and the other a tiny bit textured. I prefer the smooth side for gaming and the textured side for photoshop:

I have this one: http://www.func.net/products/archetype/index.html (oooh new model, I have the older one)

It sits inside a rubber holder that doesn't move at all.

I like the rough side of the func mat for gaming. I find more fluidity in my movement.

Man that surface 1030 model looks really nice, I just am not sure it would be big enough. Its an option though.

original func 1030 is a little small, steelpad S&S is quite nice, though I just got a Qpad and it's my fave so far

                            can't stand icemat

No mousemat here wireless mouse just on computer table.
but I would go for an icemat though.
