ah yes, I had this problem back in UT2k3, and some kind fellow helped me out. I will help you out too. (it's simple and should be in the GUI, but it aint):

Go into your User.ini, and look for these two lines:

MouseX=Count bXAxis | Axis aMouseX Speed=2.0
MouseY=Count bYAxis | Axis aMouseY Speed=2.0

change the values to say ".05" (or "1.0", but "0.5" is better)
So, they would look like this:

MouseX=Count bXAxis | Axis aMouseX Speed=0.5
MouseY=Count bYAxis | Axis aMouseY Speed=0.5

Then change your basic mouse sensitivity until you get the turning speed you like. (It will need to be higher than before after you tweak the above setting)

With this setting tweaked, you should be able to get the sensitivity you like, but with much more precise (less skippy) crosshair control. Like it should be.

Turn off mouse smoothing and mouse acceleration in the game too.

This solved everything problem I had with mouse movement.
Before this I was messing with acceleration, smoothing, mouse driver settings etc... none of that helped. (in fact 2k4 mouse acceleration seems to be binary, or in other words, there's no graduation... just slow or fast, so it sucked).

I'd never turn smoothing on. Having no mouselag is more important than having a false feeling of a high mouse resolution.

Plumb_Drumb, I have those at 1.0 for so long ago. Just remember that putting them down reduces mouse sensibility in the game. In my case if I let them at the default values then my mouse ingame is way too fast because I have it at maximum in Windows.
Messing with these settings helps with mouse jumping from one point to another instead of going smoothly. However, with an MX, at least the MX510, this skipping isn't there. Apparently the MX510 drivers, when set to 800dpi make the mouse always smooth.

Oh, try to change those values and then put mouse acceleration ingame at 100%. Lol, it will move like 0.0000001 pixels

Smoothing isnt that bad boksha , its for the people who dont have a good mouse but want to do 180 with low sensitivity .

Smoothing gives mouse lag ? I never had mouselag when I had smoothing on .

I tried maxing both of the settings, and I love it... My mouse is THAT crappy.

While I was looking for the manufacturer on the bottom, all it says is "MOUSE", some chinese characters mixed in with the serial number, the FCC standards, and "CE":bulb:

i have acceleration at 10.0 so that i can do some quick whip around flaks. and mouse sens x axis is at 1.1, and y axis at 1.75. with an mx510. FOV is at 95

I've finally achieved nirvana with my UT2004 input!
I use 2.0 mouse sens with a 3.5 mouse accel. Although it definitely isn't necessary for most people, it does provide a world of difference for those of us that need to tweak a little more based on our movement/attack preferences. In addition to that, I play with a Logitech trackball, so it's all the more crucial to me! =)

Now the only problem is getting that setting converted into the hellacious UT3 interface =(.
