Someone, somewhere must be working on an alternative device for text input. There doesn't appear to be any development for other methods of input device. A new way, concept, to get whats in my head into these blasted things. We've had the mouse and keyboard for what seems like an eternity. We need the next step in evolution. (remember when computers first had MICE?!? everyone is like 'oooo')

What do you lot reckon could be our next step? I like the idea of having a tiny camera inbedded in the monitor (somewhere) to track eyeball movement for pointer control. I know this is a reality now, but not yet in the consumer market as far as I know.

How about a stationary ball locked in a pedestal of sorts, and when you move the ball, the computer tracks its movement and moves the cursor accordingly? We could call it a "Trackball!"
