No spaces in Message of the Day

Even though I typed in the spaces in the MOTD in webadmin, they don't get displayed on the client.
I have had this problem on and off since I started running my server.
Any suggestions?

Well i i think i got 4 or 5 spaces between each word in the message of the day.
