I just learned how to make other gametype maps playable in DM. Its real kool when you can play DM on a BR or a CTF map. But I ran into this problem with Assault. Im using the assault map fallen city, very cool map and its perfect for DM sniper. But the map never stays the same. I mean, if your familar assault you know you play in phases and that they are big maps. Well when you are playin an assault map it changes randomly to different stages of the map, when you die and respawn you never know what phase of that assault map your going to be in. anybody know a way around this prob?

Edit the map into a DM version, or don't use AS maps for DM. You should really try the custom maps that are out there. If you are one that is hungry for sniper play, might I suggest an old classic, DM-ZietkindPro2004. -

I dont care about all that **** your talking about. I got a life not trying to mess around in the editor, its just a **** game, I appreiate it for what it is.... a **** game nothing more. Can a non- nerd post for a change............****!

So when I open my server browser to play some DM and I see maps like AS-FallenCity running on a DM server and I ask myself WTF its because of you and others like you.

Forgive me for not being blunt enough for you to understand.
Use maps in the way the author intended. AS maps are NOT for DM. Nor are CTF or BR. If you knew how to map, you would know what you are doing is stupid.
Given your attitude about the editor, you seem to recognize that it's no small task of producing maps. However, unless you tackle the learning of it, I doubt you'll have any real appreciation of what the map creator did and respect them to the point of not using/altering their work in gametypes that they didn't design the map for. I do hope your love for this novelty wears off very soon. Especially if you actually run a server. When people see the wrong maps on an advertised server in the way you want to do, they react like Smokeringhalo - they go "WTF?" And so do other admins.. But we'd either try to help you with your screwed-up ini, or realize that you're the kind of admin that also runs the nvidia logo map.Comment

I run my server the way I want. Ive been playing ut since 99, its not wearing off anytime soon, I get plenty of visits to our server, peeps love the maps I run. Like I said, its only a **** game, not that serious, what I run, the way I run it, works for me and thats what counts.It may not make sense to your highly intellectual 17 yr old brain, peeps like it and thats all that matters, I'm just trying new things, and that takes risk, so what. If it works out kool if not I'll change it, but so far, like I said peeps like what I run. I already know that someone might be thrown off by the BR tag in a DM server. But we have alot of regulars so it doesnt hurt us. If your offended cause I run a BR map in DM, and that Im not going to "take the time to appreiciate the editor" (lol) then you need to get out more.

Just wanted to know if there was a way to do it without getting all deep in the editor, maybe I wasnt " blunt enough".
My apprieciation for UT is were it should be. Its a game thats all.
But I realize to alot of 13-17 yr olds, it maybe your life cause thats all you need to worry about except when dad makes you take the trash out, or mow the lawn, ..... so Im sorry, yes on that level you may appreiciate it more than me. LMAO
