    UT2k3 stats are down now too?

    Hmmm....Me thinks the key here is for clans to run their own stats.

    Yup. Could be that this game and UT2k3 are just too much for Epic/Atari.

      And another month goes by with epic sitting on their collective **** waiting for the user numbers to drop to the point where they feel safe to run the stats again.

      No I lie they have been hard at work removing the stats page (well a few weeks ago anyway):sour:

        I love the game, but if there is a stats feature the only way I’m playing is when I’m on the books. This the 3rd month no stats no word about what’s up... c’mon man just fill us in, better yet get them working before this game is grossly outdated.

            Indeed. It is a nice-to-have feature. It is fun to be able to see how good or bad you are doing. Personally I don't care if they work or not.
            Let all those whiners sell their copy and stop whining here.

              Well, for me it's pretty simple. A company advertise a product with specific features and quality which will cost a specific amount of money. Now you actually buy this game (meaning you agree with the features and quality with the price given) but features you expect aren't working then I feel ripped off. It's like buying a house with no windows and doors... It's simply not complete and not what I expected for the money I spent.

              So in this case I can understand why ppl get upset and sell their copy of UT. It's not only because the stats aren't working, ppl feel maybe being alone with their problems they experience and the company doesn't give a satisfying answer at all. Ah yes, sorry I've forgotten: "We are working hard to get the stats back again". Well, lol, must be the whole company working on this only to solve the stats thing I guess since the stats are down pretty long now.

              The problem I have with this is the following: I also bought UT2004 despite I didn't want that really because I think UT2004 is only a better update from UT2003 and therefore not worth the money they want me to spend. But my clan hopped on UT2004 from XMP and so I decided to buy it aswell. I thought: "At least there's a nice support now for this game and I'm sure they will make a good job since the game isn't revolutionary compared to UT2003." After hating ATARI for their incompetence (i don't want to point to something specific, ATARI should know it) I thought this will end with UT2004 since all their effort went into this game. What I see now is an official supported game which lack of incompetence aswell?

              Seems like EPIC is going the Microsoft way: "Let the community test it and they will make the "debugging" for us and maybe the community even code the stuff themself..." ???

                When i bought UT2k4, i thought i was going to have a massive update of UT2k3, with new maps, gametypes, mutators, skins. I thought i was going to have a complete DVD full of videos. I thought i was going to have a kickass game that would be closer to UT99 than UT2k3...
                And ... errrr ... actually i have it.

                Stats being offline doesn't mean you can't have a decent multiplayer match with good players (or noobs like me)

With 20 years experience working on the Internet at places such as those which supply connectivity to your ISP, I would not take that bet. We could instead be getting a file placed on the official server by some cracker (note: Not hacker, but cracker), or somehow being affected by a man-in-the-middle or some other similar trick. If my life, livelyhood, etc. depended on it, the only way I start trusting it would be if it were digitally signed by someone who took extreme care with their signature. Of course, even then I would still have some small degree of nervousness.

                    Has anyone noticed that since the stats went down, UT2k3 is really lagging, on all the servers?

                    Also, my fps appears to be dragging...a cap on fps in UT2k3?

                        Guys (and Gals) stats aren't ready for primetime yet. We have finished major upgrades to the master server. We are now working on the stats system. It will probably be up and down over the next week or so as we make changes and test.

                        When stats are ready for primetime, we will let everyone know and I believe we will be resetting them. Just a little bit longer..
