Bot difficulty

In my server ini I have Difficulty=5

My question is, are the bots harder when the number is lower or higher, ie: Difficulty=1 or 7 ... which one makes them better skilled?

Just try changing the bot difficulty in the webadmin and see what the ini change is.

It is going from 1 (Novice) to 7 (Godlike)

It's just strange because I had difficulty set to 2 and they were really good... too good.

Now I have it on 5 and it's a little better...hmmmm

Actually its more like

0=Novice
1=Average
2=Experienced
3=Skilled
4=Adept
5=Masterful
6=Inhuman
7=Godlike


And it can depend on what gametype you have it set on.

I personally have found myself to be almost evenly matched with Masterful bots in 6 player deathmatches, but Masterful bots suck at CTF and BR because they focus on gunning you down rather than protecting flags or goals. So if you can evade them well enough you dont have to be able to shoot them to win.

But it also depends on the map, some maps have a very good bot support,

Play Albatross against a Masterfull Bot and Morpheus and feel the difference ..

Right now they are set to average and they put up a good fight, but not so good it's like they are using an aimbot... LOL
