    Total Conversion?

Hi! I am new. I have UT2003 and I have a mod question. When a mod says that it is a total conversion of UT2003, or any other UT, does that mean that you can't play the regular UT2003? Or any other mods at that matter? Thanks for the help.

No, total conversion just means that they don't use any elements that have been developed for the game itself...its completely unique (new weapons, characters, levels, gametypes, etc.) Downloading a Total Conversion (TC Mod) is just like running any other mod. You can still run other mods too, it doesn't permanently alter UT2004 if you run it without the mod...

      from Unrealwiki at Beyondunreal.com:

      Total conversion
A total conversion is a collection of game types with a common theme and purpose. For a total conversion it is generally accepted that new menus will be present, new graphics will be used throughout the entire game, a new set of INI files will be used, and that little, if any, content from the original game will be present or used.
