    The art of flipping.

    Hello everyone. I was curious. In UT2004, how exactly do you flip? I started playing UT2003 awhile back but stopped, and haven't played it for longer than I can remember, but anyway that's not the point. I did know how to flip on there but can't seem to remember anymore, and I was just wondering how to do it.

    Someone in the IRC channel told me I needed to be a certain race, download the community pack, and then in game go into 3rd person mode. Previously in UT2k3, I do remember flipping, and I do not remember every going into 3rd person mode to do it. Although I don't remember what race I was either...

    Anyway, another question about flipping. When executed, does this really help you in game? Or is it just to look cool, and fancy?

    wow, i wonder howmany threads about this there have been... Anyway, The flip is not a skill, its just an animation done by the characters, press F4 to go to behindview and you may see yourself flip, most of the girls flip, and so do the robots, and the saurians. All cahracters do a flip when they wall dodge (where you jump into a wall, and press away from the wall twice to leap of it)

        's alright, i checked and its not as many as i though, for future reference though, almost all questions you'll have for the first couple of months can either be answered by search, or Alpha2003's complete guide (its stickied on the General Discussion)

          Flipping is just an animation for the smaller models... especially the female models. If you wall dodge then most models will do a front, back, or a side roll. ... except the skaarj and the axon model.. i think...

              Well, you can keep on wondering because your answer isn't entirely true. Maybe that's why new players get so confused and have to ask again just to make sure. The part that isn't true... not all characters flip when you do a wall dodge.
