    HUD icon tutorials?

    I've figured out how to create and import my own textures, and then use them for HUD icons. But my icons aren't transparent, so the red ammo bar is covered up by the black background around my icon.

    I looked around for some information on creating HUD icons, figuring there must be some little thing I'm missing, but I can't seem to find anything.

    Any tips and/or hints?

    Somewhere I read gray(128, 128, 128) is completely opaque. However I don't know at what side transparency starts kicking in. Also, there seems to be a bug with transparacy and a distinct driver for a video card I don't have.

      The background on my texture is black (0,0,0).

      I thought the transparency problem was with ut2004(?) I'm working with 2003.

        Yeah, the bug is with 2004.

          You need to set the alpha channel on your texture (as a 32-bit targa file), then check alpha when importing into UEd.
