Name editor

Used to play a lot of Quake and Quake II way back when.
Got away from games for a while. Used to be name editors to make fancy names when online. How is that done now? Thanks.

I'm in the same boat. UT2003 was my first time back to a PC FPS since Quake I & II.

I liked UT2003 so much that I got UT2004 as soon as it came out.

Are you talking about just changing your name? This can be done under Settings / Player, and can be changed any time.

Or are you talking about using a different font? If so, I'm not sure.

something like 'funnames' if i recall correctly? pretty much just a name script that you could run at key press.. as far as one for UT, i dont think it exists

I think most people just edit the ini file (User.ini in System, 'Name' entry under DefaultPlayer IIRC).

ugh, thankfully ut doesnt support all the annoying colors and extended ascii characters and ****. when people bring up the score screen, they generally like seeing information, not blinking flashy rainbow goofy whatever. that would be even worse for the people that leave the names visible above players.

i think colored names like q3 is a good idea

You can use some ascii character.

like RümÄndCökë but nothing fancy
