Noob question. Can I host a game for a few friends without setting up a server?

You can start a "listen server"
Basically people can then connect to your game, without you starting a dedicated server. This means you are ingame and other ppl join in. If you quit, everyone else gets a disconnect.
If u want a game for just a few of ur friends and u want them to be able to play when you are not. You need to set up a server.
It's real easy on windows to do it tho.
Just go to "host game"
Set everything right. Then listen or dedicated & ur done.
