    minigun alt fire

is alt fire on the minigun cannon fire (more explosive) and normal fire is machine gun

are they both the same rates of fire? does one have more precision and less shake that the other?

i'm guessing alt fire against vehicles, normal fire against people

anyone know? its not in tha manual!

I think the alt fire is more powerful and more accurate but slower

At least I use alt fire for further targets and normal fire for closer ones. When using the alt fire you need to aim a bit ahead of the target because the bullets travel slower.

The regular fire of the minigun is over double the rate of the alt fire. You have a much larger spread with the regular fire due to its speed. Also, the alt fire is armor piercing so it is better used for vehicles than people.

I think the minigun is hitscan in all instances.

I read that the alt fire is specific to targets that are farther away. The amount of rounds expended is less but more accurate.

              As I understand it...
              1) It's hitscan either way.
              2) Primary is faster, less accurate and better for close in combat.
              3) Secondary is a bit slower, packs more punch and is more accurate.

Now, go practice those shock combos...

Minigub alt-fire is excellent for quick kills, because it actually hits the head when you aim at it.

Well yeah, I wasn't actually sure whether alt-fire bullets really travelled slower or not, as I don't use the primary fire on further targets. At least they seem to do so. Guess it just looks like that then.
