Blocking Downloads from Servers

Is there a setting I can edit or toggle to automatically block the game from downloading maps, models, skins, and other unofficial content from online servers ?

Yes,

1. don't join those servers
2. don't deselect "standard servers only" on the internet tab, this will reduce the amount of custom stuff.
3. simply hit F10 whilst downloading to cancel.
4. in your Ut2004.ini file (located in your Ut2004\System folder), change AllowDownloads to false in the TcpNetDriver section.

Why do you bother joining the server? If you manage to block the downloads then the server won't let you join. You need the files to play and that server.

Just play on standard servers as INIQUITOUS said.
If your a modem player then this is the only way to play online unless you can download the files in advance.
