    Networking issue

    ok...here is the layout.
Two computers [comp #1-Winxp #2-Win98se] running a wireless network.

When machine one and two are searching for a server to play UTk4 machine #2 has to be allowed special consideration due to low bandwidth. Of course, different servers require different downloads and numerous times Machine #1 will load considerably faster than Machine #2. Sometimes the load times are unreasonable. Thus, not making it really fun if you cant play the person you intended to play with.
The real problem is the maps and mods....Is there a way that Machine #2 can get these maps/mods any other way? File sharing? etc.

Copy your "UT2004\Cache" folder, and mail it to the slower machine, after you downloaded the files off the server

WinRAR to compress, yousendit to send.

If the machines are on a network, why not just set-up a network share between the two? You can even share your cache folder for easy transferring.

if you dont want to set up a network share between the two you can host the file on www.yousendit.com.

they allow 1 gig free hosting and its very easy.

you just go to the site enter the filepath, enter your email and press send then wait till the file is fully uploaded. a page will come up with the link to your file. email the link to yourself and then use the link from your other pc.

              good luck.

burn some cd's. Its time for you to back up just in case anyways right??? You don't have to move the whole folder at once.
