Sniper rifle as default weapon?

Anyone know why Epic omitted a sniper rifle as a default weapon? I know there are infinite posts on implementing one, but from prior posts, its clear that its still a lot of work and trial and error to make something as good as COD etc...

Dude, the demo content is just demo content. The game it was pulled from included a Sniper Rifle.

All you need to do to make a 'Sniper Rifle' is modify the shock rifle to not have a secondary fire, or to have the secondary fire alter the player FOV. This is trivial to implement.
