Only for Oculus developers now, I guess it makes sense because they list only updates concerning Oculus!

Oculus-ready Unreal Development Kit Coming in April

Today, we're announcing that we've partnered with Epic Games to release a custom, Oculus-ready version of the Unreal Development Kit (UDK), the free edition of Unreal Engine 3 (UE3). The Oculus-ready UDK will be available to all Oculus developers. We're also releasing an Oculus integration for UE3, available to the full source Unreal Engine 3 licensees out there.

It's a virtual reality headset. It has a screen inside that displays 3D and it has a motion sensor to track the rotation or your head which can be applied to the camera in-game with low latency.

The unique thing about this one compared to other stuff before it is that the motion sensor is much better than previous versions and because of the advancements of phones it's able to use a lightweight high quality screen. The 3D is also going to be perfect because it splits up the screen between the eyes so there is no crosstalk/ghosting and no brightness issues. The only issue currently is the screen resolution which is 1280x800 which is split up for the 3D to 640x800 for each eye. It also uses lenses in front of your eye so that the image will fill most of your vision, previously headsets had a very small viewing area.

actually I just remembered playing a VR machine way back in the early 90's and it was awful. I'm hoping techs moved on a bit since then

This was their motivation and mindset when they came up with this. They got John Carmack helping them out, everyone in the industry is up in this. Everyone who tested this thing was mindblown. It's gon be good!
