This should really be in the Work in Progress folder. It'll get better eyes on it there.
At first, I felt the first set up jumps just above the start were too difficult, and I was going to start cheating. I stuck with it, and fought through that jump till I got the trick to it. It's not really fair to place the smallest, most difficult platforming right at the start. Even on the next play-through, it was still so difficult until Double-Jump was achieved, then the platforming felt solid.
But back to the first run. After picking up DJ, backtracked to the area with the speed bonus and poison mobs. Finally running to the end area after the water. Actually missed the shooting mob in the first run, so I played again after looking at what was there on the map.
Overall, I liked it. Again, gotta say that first jump puzzle is going to turn off a lot of gamers (gotta pace that difficulty). Game seems to nail the Metroidvania genre. Looking forward to more.
Double Jump powerup felt strong. Enjoyed hopping around after getting it.

I never died, but did notice fall damage
sometimes the character would disappaer for a few seconds after taking damage.
I was kinda surprised these were raw source files. Kinda nice to see.
