    can anyone tell me where you go to begin programming?

    Or any other text-editor really :P

    Or if you want an IDE, try Visual Studio + nFringe!

      Don't use text-editor...
      VS is good option...
      Wotgreal is the best.

        I use Notepad++. It's perfectly fine for working in UDK - something like Visual Studio is colossal overkill when you're just editing text, as it offers no real benefits.

            visual studio the best, you have syntax highlighter you can build directly with visual studio or use the UDK make commandlet, thing

                      Why ? I'm using notepad++ too.
                      I don't have any problem to work with it and the UDK (especially with the auto-completion).
                      You just need to be organized a little, and some features are really great (like the possibility to see two files side by side).
