ok so i imported my sound and it works but i was wondering how do i make it so the sound i added only stays in the hall way i placed it in?

You should use the Ambient Sound actor.

Here are some videos, there are 6 on the audio system and IIRC one shows exactly how to limit a sound to a specific area.
