    prototype AI vs pvp?

I'm currently working on a RPG/RTS and i'm going to make a prototype first to see if my ideas should work well. Obviously being an RTS the prototype will have to armies facing each other, however i'm unsure if to get a general idea out quickly if i should first code AI or just set the two armies to work via multi player. Any suggestions?

I would suggest getting multiplayer working first. That way you will get better feedback from the community/friends/family and find out game design abuses earlier. Also you will get comments, praise, criticism which can be a boost to the morale of yourself or the team.

Thanks! you're probably right, the feedback could definitely help.

Another benefit of doing multiplayer first is people will develop strategies that you'll likely never think of thus helping you create AI strategies later on, hopefully better ones than you would of made in the first place as they would be more human behaviour based. =)
