    Why?

    Hello all.

    I have a problem.

    Look at the picture.

My plane is the bottom of the photo.

And the plane created by UDK is the top of the photo.

The two planes have the same options and polygons.

Look at the top level of the photo.

It has more square than my plane down the photo.

    Why?

If you make a plane in 3dsmax,maya, etc it got standard 1 tiling, so no repeat.
if you make the uvw wraps in 3dsmax smaller it gets more tiling so more of your squares.

if you add a plane simply in the ut3 editor you can select the f5 button to get in the options and change scale there. then you can convert the bsp plane to static mesh to get the same effect.

you can not scale the materails on objects you need to scale the textures in the material itself if you want a custom size.

        hope you get it now.

(uvw is like a 2d version of your mesh on a plane were you see the texture below and were the vertex are on that plane they also get there texture back on the 3d model)

You do it in a modelling application. In 3DS Max, which is what I use, you use the Unwrap UVW modifier and go to Edit UVW. You'll need to add in the seams on the model and move them to make a nett of the model. There are a lot of tutorials around on the topic for various different applications so I won't get any more into it.

Well ... not quite. You can scale textures within the material itself using the TexCoordinate node.
