Delete unwanted packages- or combine them?

is this possible? somehow when i moved some sound assets it said
'move or rename with language varients'
then put the sounds in a packages suffixed with _CHN now I cant get rid of those packages, even when they are empty and fully loaded.

one way is to hunt them down on the hard disc and delete them from there, once UDK is closed.

wouldn't you have to UN-load them first to delete them? also packages are stored here for me in Windows 7 "C:\UDK\UDK-2010-12\UDKGame\Content" (I'm using the December UDK Build, so change the path to your build version)
