newbie , many .ini files , what is it ?

I am a beginner only studying for a week or so .

I find many .ini files in UDK.
many tutorials say that I have to modify .ini sections.

DefaultEngine.ini
UTEngine.ini

something like that .

and many other ini files exist.


but I don't know exactly why I modify it .

if I modify it, then what does it happen ?


if anyone explain a little for each ini files,
[specially for a few important ini files]
it will be very helpful to me.
