    Moving on to real development

So I've pretty much mastered making functional multiplayer maps using UDK, but now i want to go deeper.

How would i do something like this?

More specifically, equipment with stats, third person camera and game menus.

Is that all done in kismet?
    Any good tutorials?

That's pretty much all kismet... or can be done with it. There are a lot of tutorials around, like the camera you basically just over-ride where it goes normally to behind the character.

I would look some up for you but I am really really tired and kinda don't want to but if I remember I'll do it sometime. I know of a few that might help but I can't remember what they were called.

Well I already did some of it... wasting my time and whatnot.... crazy kids....

Anyway here's a couple you probably came across before:

Here's a tutorial on an inventory that I can't really tell if it's good:

For equipment stats you could just make them like characters and tie health to it, when it dies it breaks or whatever. Takes damage from collision or something, I haven't really thought it through. There are better ways I'm sure but I'm really tired but need to finish some things that I am not really trying that hard to do before I go to bed. For the menus I'm not really sure. I'm guessing that there might be some kind of a cinematic filter that disables normal controls, or you could make one without too much difficulty.
