Before I get too far into what I'm doing and **** this up, I figure I can get some clarification on how UDK does this (I am horrible at animating, especially for games).

The first is: Should the animation sets be done in one file (i.e. I would make a file like soldier_basic that has a series of animations, like pose frames 1-2, walk 3-53, run 54-104, shoot 105-115, etc), or in separate files (i.e. have a file for run_start, run, run_stop, etc)?

And second (because I couldn't really find much of an answer on the documents so I really have no idea), can I just use nodes without a problem, or do I need to set up an actual biped?

I've worked with engines that do things totally differently and I don't want to start everything wrong.
