Creating an 2D GUI/Interface

Hello,

Im wondering if its possible to create a 2D GUI ingame?

For example an 2D Inventory System, where I can use my mouse (Very usefull for Roleplay games).

Any tutorials would be great.

Maybe you can use Scaleform for it.

Of course, by using scaleform, you'll have to learn Flash and Actionscript as well.

If you prefer, you can also go by hourences' UIScene tutorial (pre-october release only, though), where he even shows you how to make the player lose control of the character, and start navigating the menus instead by a quite simple command.
