    UDK Lighting Problem...

    When i launch my game this shows up.

    This shadows appears around the gun and in other levels it appears in some meshes.

    I noticed this happens in the corners of square rooms too. There's a dark crease on the bent in edge...

      Again huh... This problem arises very often and it isn't a shadow it is AO or Ambient Occlusion just create a post process volume and turn it off.

        This is what fixed it......



        Go to World Properties and scroll down to worldinfo.

        That should fix it.

            I've always wondered... is this a bug on some graphics cards, or ambient occlusion is just buggy?

              no, it's just the AO settings in the UTPostProcess_Console (you can find it in the content browser), just open it up, and adjust some of the AO settings

                the default settings for the SSAO needs to be seriously toned down.
