have a really stupid question

well basically i really want to go to college and become a level desighner so i wanted to use udk to make my ideas to see how they work.

my question is if i make a character or a level or a vehicle when i eventually become a level desighner couuld i use the stuff i put in it or iwill it be copyrighted/owned by epic


does this make sense??
